What We Do

A ROTREE joint project

We Collect Local Surplus Food...

Working with local supermarkets and food suppliers. Reducing food waste in our area

...We can then store it...

Using refurbished appliances supplied by TREE, we can safely store and freeze donated food.

...So it can be distributed...

Working with local groups and charities we ensure donated food is given to those in need.

...and used to make much needed meals.

Helping clubs and those in need create good quality meals rather than throwing away great food.

Get Involved - we need volunteers to help collect and distribute donated food

About us

Who are we?

A Community Food Hub For Tendring

The Rotary Club of Clacton on Sea and Tendring Reuse & Employment Enterprise have come together to form a joint food project - ROTREE.
Drawing on our combined skills, experience and resources we aim to provide the Tendring area with its first Community Food hub dealing with fresh and frozen produce. A steering group from both organisations is overseeing the day to day challenges of the project. We have already started working with Marks and Spencer and we are approaching other retailers.

What We Do

Getting Serious About Surplus

We collect surplus local food...

Working with local supermarkets and food suppliers. Reducing food waste in our area

...so it can be distributed...

Local groups, clubs and charities sign up to become members of the hub so we can ensure donated food is given to those in need.

...& used to make quality meals.

Helping clubs and those in need create good quality meals rather than throwing away great food.
